We feel excited and privileged as a church to host this year’s 47th Annual Women’s Retreat (Ladie’s Advance). At First Christian Church, we place a high value on turning lost people into sold out followers of Christ. With that in mind, a weekend like this is right in line with our mission! Whether you are a seasoned saint, or don’t know much about God at all, this retreat is for you. We all need to learn more about how to become sold out followers of Christ!

 

Our theme this year is “Rooted and Grounded in Love.” The focus for our weekend is Ephesians 3:17-19, “...so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith - that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Meet our Speaker - Nancy Karpenske

 

Nancy recently completed 35+ years at LifeBridge Christian Church, Longmont, Colorado. She served as Children’s Director for 12 years, and then over 20 years as Pastor to Women. She is a graduate of Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Nancy is the author of numerous Bible study guides. She served on the Editorial Advisory Group for Christian Standard Magazine. She went on her first mission trip at age 64, to the Dominican Republic.

 

She has been married to Mark, a recently retired mailman, for over 40 years. They have three daughters and three granddaughters.

 

Nancy is passionate about studying the Bible and helping women connect with Jesus through the Bible and community. She loves gardening and makes weekly trips to the local library.

Churches serve their communities in different ways. One area may have a budget class, while another has a food pantry, moving ministry, or benevolence fund. Yet, when care is not coordinated, needs can be overlooked or duplicated, and people are not served in a holistic manner. This is where Love INC come in! Heart of Montana Love INC (Love In the Name of Christ) is a Christian nonprofit serving the Central Montana area. Love INC is a partnership of churches - they foster collaboration and organize holistic care to help churches serve their neighbors and the community through resources and relationships. By networking churches in a community together, Love INC is able to connect caring church volunteers with their neighbors in need. It’s a model that has not only been proven to transform lives, but communities, as well.

 

When working with Love INC, neighbors with needs are surrounded by Christians with skills and resources, who are called to help. Love INC helps churches provide holistic care for their neighbors by coordinating specific, manageable opportunities that mobilize the resources, gifts, and relationships of their congregations. Providing things like furniture, toiletries, mentoring and life skills classes, Love INC helps churches work across denominational lines to meet the tangible and intangible needs of their community.

The Women’s Retreat will officially end at 4pm Saturday, but our time together can continue.

 

In 2021, several of the ladies from First Christian Church Lewistown stayed an extra night in Fort Benton after the Women’s Fellowship weekend ended. They were so blessed by the extra time together to share what they had learned and strengthen their friendships through deeper conversations.

We will be hosting an After Party Saturday from 5 - 9 pm to allow for continued fellowship and conversations for those who are local to Lewistown and those who have traveled for the weekend.
