“Domestic Missions”

Goal:  Re-invest church monies in our local community, Central Montana, and the general state.

Current missions/projects and comments:

1.      Little Rockies Christian Camp:  this is primarily a “kid’s summer camp” located at the base of the Little Rocky Mountains, approximately 1.5 hours north of Lewistown.  Other family related camps occur also.  Bible colleges and several Montana churches help support this camp also.

2.      Pinehaven:  this is a ranch with improvements near St. Ignatius, Montana.  Pinehaven is operated with private funds for troubled children in need of guardianship, or children recommended with no home.  This ranch provides a “work ethic” setting, in a full-time “bible based” living environment.

3.      Blackfeet Christian Indian Mission:  Headquartered in Browning, Montana, mission funds help withing the “Blackfeet Indian Reservation” via the Blackfeet Christian Church.

4.      Bible College scholarships:  Funds are earmarked for local church youth who want to attend approved Bible colleges.  These funds can continue until graduation from the college, and require a minimum grade point average for continued funding.

5.      HRDC “Clearinghouse Connection”:  The local HRDC office provides an outlet of locally donated funds to good local causes of those in need of food, shelter, utilities, etc.  The local HRDC staff screen eligible individuals to transfer our mission funds to.

6.      Various other local support is provided from this mission for marriage enrichment classes, financial educational support, children’s ministries:  all available for anyone in need.  We also have been using our local radio station to sponser biblical messages, with a local voice also identifying First Christian Church’s sponsorship.
